Porcelain bowl with rounded sides and everted rim, with a slightly tapered footring deeply undercut inside. There is a man on a flowery bank with a waterfall within a double circle in overglaze red, green, yellow, purplish brown and turquoise enamel in the centre of the interior, and three men on horseback and a boy servant heading towards a pavillion amid stars and clouds on the exterior. There is a mark in overglaze red on the base.

Bowl with three riders on horseback and their servant
This bowl has an iron-red mark on the base which reads大明年製 (Da Ming nian zhi ‘Made in the Ming dynasty’.) This mark was introduced in the sixteenth century as the scale of production at Jingdezhen mushroomed.
