Porcelain bowl with rounded sides and roughly trimmed footrim. There is a floral scroll pattern in underglaze blue and red, green, yellow and turquoise overglaze enamels on the interior, and four beasts, with saddlecloths showing a lotus flower and a Chinese character, among rocks, clouds, waves and auspicious emblems on the exterior. There is a mark on the base.

Bowl with fabulous creatures
Saddle blankets on each of the animal's backs bear one of four Chinese characters which together make the phrase 福壽康寧 (fu shou kang ning ‘May good fortune and health be with you’). Potters added an apocryphal four-character underglaze blue Xuande reign mark on the base.
