Curator's comments

Room 95 label text: PDF 59 Ru ware dish Historical research and forensic science have proven that this stoneware dish is a product of the Ru kilns. Cranfield University’s Forensic Institute used new hand-held XRF technology to confirm this brush-washer, long believed to be of Korean origin, is in fact one of under 100 surviving known examples of ‘Ru’ ware. Sir Percival David acquired it in New York in 1928. Stoneware with celadon glaze Qingliangsi, Baofeng Henan province Song dynasty, about AD 1086–1125
