Description
Yaozhou stoneware conical bowl with slightly flared rim. The bowl has deep olive-green glaze. There are four fish and a squid in rippling water moulded on the interior, with incised radiating lines on the exterior. One of a pair with PDF.297.

Room 95 label text: DF 296 Conical bowl with fish design Potters employed a reusable carved intaglio mould to produce this bowl which sped up the production process. Inside four fish and another sea creature possibly a squid are depicted against rippling water and the outside is incised with radiating lines. It is covered with a rich and glossy olive green glaze. It is one of a pair with PDF 297. Stoneware with incised and moulded decoration and olive-green glaze Yaozhou ware 耀州窯 Huangpuzhen, Tongchuan city, Shaanxi province 陕西省, 銅川市, 黄堡鎮 Northern Song to early Jin dynasty, about AD 1050–1150
PDF 296 青釉魚紋斗笠碗 陶工使用可重複使用的凹雕陶模製作此碗,加快了陶瓷的生產進度。碗內飾四條魚,以及另外一種海洋生物,可能為魷魚,周邊環以水波裝飾。碗外壁刻劃放射狀條紋裝飾。器身施橄欖綠色釉,釉面潤澤瑩亮。與PDF297為一對。 炻器,劃花,印花,橄欖綠釉 耀州窯 陝西省銅川市黃堡鎮 北宋至金代早期,約1050-1150年
