Description
Longquan porcelain jar of drum-shape. The jar has greyish-green glaze with some crackle. There is a peony scroll in relief around the exterior with two moulded masks and ring handles, between two bands of flower-shaped bosses.

Room 95 label text: PDF 225 Drum shaped jar with peonies The peonies around the outside of the jar are applied to the leather-hard body. Their stems are added in slip. The florets suggest nails for tightening the skin on a real drum. Originally this jar would have had a cover. Stoneware, porcelain-type, with applied decoration and celadon glaze Longquan ware龍泉窯 Longquan region, Zhejiang province 浙江省,龍泉地區 Yuan, about AD 1300–1368
PDF 225 青釉牡丹紋鼓形罐 此罐器身裝飾牡丹及枝蔓,枝蔓為瀝粉塑貼。除造型仿皮質鼓外,還添加了真鼓所有的鼓丁裝飾。此罐原應有蓋。 炻器,属廣義瓷器,貼花,青釉 龍泉窯 浙江省龍泉地區 元代,約1300-1368年
