Curator's comments: Published PDF date : Modern Japan; Room 95 label text: PDF 206 Jue with celadon glaze This high-fired cup is archaistic in two senses. Firstly it is modelled in the form of an ancient bronze ritual vessel made for heating wine called a jue. Furthermore it is covered in a Song-style celadon glaze. Sir Percival David acquired it on 12 May 1939 from Parke - Bernet auction. The lot number was 228. Stoneware with celadon glaze South China 中國南部 Late Qing dynasty or Republican period, about 1850–1938; PDF 206 青釉爵此高溫燒制的爵杯有兩方面的崇古意趣，其一是器形源於遠古用來溫酒的青銅酒器爵，其二是釉色仿宋代風格的青釉。1939年5月12日，斐西瓦樂•大維德爵士于派克-伯南特拍賣行（Parke - Bernet auction）購得此器，當時的拍賣编號為228。炻器，青釉中國南方晚清或民國，約1850-1938年
