This blade is 'shinogi zukuri', and has a shallow curve with 'fumbari' and a small 'kissaki'. The unmodified tang has one hole and the file marks are 'kiri'. The tang tip is 'ha agari kurijiri'. The grain is closely packed 'koitame'. The 'hamon' is 'suguha' with a somewhat tight 'nioiguchi' and with 'konie'. The 'boshi' is 'komaru' form, and loses definition slightly on the 'omote'. This blade is accompanied by a silvered single-piece 'habaki'.
The scabbard (not illustrated) is lacquered in simulation of wood grain. The 'fuchi' and 'kashira' are of iron with dragons in gold 'nunome zogan' on iron. The 'menuki' are of military equipment. The 'tsuba' is patinated iron carved with a willow beneath the moon, and signed 'Nara Masanori'.
