According to Asano Shugo (2008), these seven prints and nine others by KIyonobu share a similar format and design; however, Japanese shunga prints of this type were usually made in sets of twelve, so it is unlikely that all sixteen prints belonged to the same set. Instead they probably belonged to at least two different sets, although Asano was not sure how they should be subdivided. The other nine prints have been published as follows: six in ‘Kikan ukiyo-e’, no.95; two in Shibui, ‘Genroku kohanga shuei’, vol.1; and one in Lane, ‘Shinpen shoki hanga makurae’.
