Tea-pot + lid. Coat of arms of Maitland of Pitrichie., "Or a lion rampant gules couped in all the joints of the first within a bordure chequy argent and azure"; crest, "A lion's head erased gules; and motto: PAIX ET PEU ('Peace and a little'). This service was made for Major Arthur Forbes-Maitland, of Pitrichie in Aberdeenshire, who died there in 1766. Made of enamelled porcelain.
