Skirt; part of woman's festival costume As.1998.1.72 to 79, in four bands. Waistband of hemp, dyed indigo. Band of bright blue cotton, pleated, with main band of white manufactured cotton, and final band of hemp cloth, stiffly pleated. Main band decorated in wax resist dyed indigo; design based on horizontal bands including line of spirals. Bottom band has band of machine stitching in red and white.
