Back decoration with four straps; part of woman's festival costume As.1998.1.327 to 330. Back underpiece is hand-woven with weft of cotton rags dyed indigo. Overpiece is tacked over underpiece at top and bottom, with base cloth of hand-woven cotton dyed indigo with lining. Four narrow straps in indigo-dyed cotton attached in pairs at top of back pieces; two top bands have cloth tapes attached. Decorated on overpiece and straps with cross and other stitched in formal floral patterns.

- This costume is a type worn by older women - younger tend to wear pink. Probably made circa 20-30 years ago when owner was young. Worn with the rectangles down centre of back (over the gap between embroidery on jacket). The straps cross over the front interweaving as decorative feature.
