Pair of sleeve pieces; part of married woman's festival costume As.1998.1.217 to 221. Base cloth of bought cotton dyed dark blue. Decorated (from cuff edge) in i) emerald green satin cloth; ii) bought ribbon band in shiny silk in emerald green, white, blue and pink; iii) hand-woven black cotton cloth embroidered in counted work. Floral pattern in green, maroon, yellow, blue and red silk; iv) shiny indigo cloth on the bias with a braid in orange, green and pink.
