Skirt; part of woman's marriage costume As.1998.1.204 to 206. Decorated in seven bands, from top: a) band of wax resist; b) band of white cotton, embroidered in cross stitch in acrylic 'wool' yarn in green, pink, orange, purple and black; c) black cloth with isolated cross stitch motifs; alternating large flowers and small flowers with butterflies above and below; d) narrow stripe of red, orange, green and white made by machining narrow strips on red cloth background; e) white shiny cloth; f) black cloth with similar embroidered decoration to c). Lining of printed cotton in check and diamond pattern in blue.
