Blouse or jacket; part of woman's marriage costume As.1998.1.204 to 206. Base cloth of shiny blue man-made textile in satin damask type weave, lined with soft green man-made self-striped cloth. Ties on right at underarm and on left front with slight curve at bottom. Decoration focussed on sleeve and front and neck facing. At neck edge is bought black cloth with cross stitch motifs in acrylic 'wool' yarn in pink, green, white, orange, red and blue. Edged with narrow pink and white applique strips. Sleeves embroidered as neck, with strips either side of ribbons. At wrist end are three bands: a) white ground with cross stitch pattern; b) glittery Rik Rak with edging of white bound thread; c) shiny man-made soft pink cloth.

- Corrigan notes that this jacket, with modern and bright materials bought at the markets, would be very fashionable, showing the family is prosperous and does not have to rely on hand-woven materials.
