Front apron; part of woman's market and festival costume As.1998.1.155 to 159. Base cloth of waist band is hand-spun, hand-woven cotton dyed indigo to almost black. Base cloth of main section is in similar but finer cloth; extremely shiny on one side. Decoration on two side panels in four sections: a) apple-green manufactured panel, pleated; b) applied strips of pink, yellow, silver and green bought cloth; c) embroidered shiny indigo cloth in scrolling pattern in mostly white with orange, pink, green and blue; d) pink binding.
