Belum (image of a tew, i.e., malevolent spirit); carved of sago palm pith; crouching male human figure slightly flattened, round hat, arms raised with hands meeting just under chin, legs drawn together so that knees nearly meet elbows; hat painted blue and yellow, hair blue one side, green other side, eyebrows black, mouth black, body red.
