A man's (?) tube skirt, a 'sarong'; large, with alternating polychrome (warp dominant) and solid (balanced weave) pink bands. Made from four equal sized pieces of tabby cotton cloth (with paired warps and wefts), woven as stripes. Eight polychrome bands symmetrical about a turquoise band: red, green, yellow and black bands of different depths. Small-scale geometric patterning - triangles, chevrons, diamonds, crosses ('X') etc - executed in twill weave using yellow and black cotton yarns. Separate cloths hand stitched together selvedge to selvedge; some sewing has come undone. Vertical (French) seam machine stitched. A little stained.
