''II. These waistbelts are worn just above the hips by both males and females of the Onge Group of tribes.
They are ornamented with strips of the roasted bark of the Dendrobium (? littoralis) coarsely done in the case of this tribe only. (These specimens are from Rutland Island). The girdle is made of strips of cane bark, sewn together with twine made from the inner bark of the Ficus Hispida, and further ornamented with tassels of the same twine.'
