- Register Slip: 'Purchased (Christy Fund). 1880. (Carl Bock). Borneo. "Mandau"; the blade convex on one side, with longitudinal facets; wooden handle, rattan grip and gutta percha mount; wooden sheath of ranggu [santol or cottonfruit] wood with carved panel, fur, and cane edge; behind is a bark sheath, containing a long handled knife, with head of monster at end. Waistbelt of plaited rattan and blue cord with hornbill's beak toggle. Keniyah [Kenyah] Malat. The head is called ulu pasu. (C. Hose) [Charles Hose q.v.] From Longwai.'
