Collared disc of opaque variegated dark green jade with root veining and a soft polish. The thinly worked and fractured disc has a flange on the inside rim of the otherwise undecorated disc.

Shang period, possibly western China. c.1200BC. This disc is very thin and smoothly worked and is cracked in one place. The inner collar is also fragile. Like 353 [2014,AsiaLoan,1.137] this disc seems to belong to the wide category of very fine thin discs found at Anyang and in the south-west. It is probable that some of these rather thin examples were made in areas outside Henan province. See Rawson 1995, p.166, cat.no.9.2.
