- Curator's comments
- The book has been re-covered as the fibre binding is relatively new. Such objects are produced by shamans, used, and sold by them. Books like these are an essential part of a shaman’s repertoire and are usually made by the shaman himself. The imagery in the book corresponds with other protective images found in varying contexts in Southeast Asia, including Islamic and Buddhist ones.
