Triptych print, colour woodblock. The kabuki actors (right) Ichikawa Danjuro VII as Igami no Gonta; (centre) Iwai Kumesaburo II as Osato, the daughter of the sushi shop (Sushiya musume Osato); (left) Ichikawa Ebizo VI as Gonta’s son, Zenta (Gonta isshi Zenta) and Bando Mitsugoro III as Yasuke of the sushi shop (Sushiya no Yasuke; actually Taira no Koremori in disguise), in the final scene of Act III, ‘Shimo-Ichimura Tsurube zushiya’, ‘The Tsurube sushi shop in Lower Ichimura Village’) of the play ‘Yoshitsune senbon zakura’, ‘Yoshitsune and the thousand cherry trees’), by Takeda Izumo II, Miyoshi Shoraku and Namiki Senryu; performed at the Ichimura-za in the 7th month of 1828.
