The Kabuki actors (right) Ichikawa Danjuro VII as Fuwa Banzaemon; (centre) Segawa Kikunojo V as the courtesan Katsuragi (Keisei Katsuragi); (left) Onoe Kikugoro III as Nagoya Sanza, in the scene ‘Saya-ate’, from the play ‘Ukiyozuka hiyoku no inazuma’ (alternately read as ‘Ukiyogara hiyoku no inazuma’, by Tsuruya Nanboku IV; performed at the Ichimura-za in the 3rd month of 1823. (Bunsei 6).
