- Curator's comments
- Wat Lai in the central Thai city of Lopburi traces its founding to the Ayutthaya era (1351-1767) and is well-known for its principal image, Phra Si An (Maitreya, the future Buddha), depicted on the plaque, as well as for stucco reliefs on one of its halls illustrating the Buddha’s enlightenment and the Totsachat, stories of the last ten previous lives of the Buddha.
