Woodblock triptych print, oban tate-e. Scene from the kabuki play 'Sukeroku kuruwa no hanamidoki' (Sukeroku's Cherry-Blossom Viewing Time in Yoshiwara). Left: the courtesan Agemaki (Banto Shuka I), yarite Matsu (?) and Shinbei (?). Centre: Hanakawado Sukeroku (Ichikawa Danjuro VIII) holding a pipe between his toes, the courtesan Shiratama (Ichikawa Shinsha) and Fukuyama Inosuke (?). Right: Ikkyu (Ichikawa Kodanji IV) seated, Asagao Senbei (Ichikawa Hirogoro I) and Kanpera Monbei (Nakayama Ichizo I) holding robes (right). Performed at Nakamura-za Theatre, third month, 1850.
