Colour woodblock print, oban tate-e. Top: Wakasa Province: Lady Kaoyo watching Moronoo ascend the steps of the Hachiman Shrine. Bottom: Echizen Province: the actor Iwai Kumesaburo III as the courtesan Mikunikojoro, with multiple hairpins in her hair, and Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Tamaya Shinbei.
