- Curator's comments
- The present catalogues shows photographs selected for exhibition by members of the Palette Renmei Dojinkai, a group of enthusiasts who used a Japanese type of Vest Pocket Camera named the 'Palette'. The group had been founded in 1926 by Iketani Keitaro (1890-1968) who was an amateur photographer in his own right and member of the Tokyo Photographic Research Society (Tokyo Shashin Kenkyukai). He was the editor of 'Palette Images' and also worked for the monthly photo-magazine 'Shashin Geppo'. Both were sponsored by Konishi Honten one of the most important suppliers of camera goods in pre-war Japan. The images follow the latest trends of shinko shashin. No copy in OCLC.
