Description
Oval lime-box (hton bu) used in the preparation of the betel quid. The box is made of thick red copper with various inlays of brass. The top of the lid is flat with inlaid decoration of yellow brass and perhaps another colour somewhat imperfectly contrasted with the ground. The rest of the lid is symmetrically decorated with dots and a further oval band which has pointed ends. The base is deeply recessed with a star stamp of 18 rays.
