Description
Small circular plate, made of coiled split bamboo, decorated in the shwe-zawa (black and gold) technique, and depicting Mahatma Gandhi. He is shown seated on a mat and working at his spinning wheel. Two Tamil characters are etched into the black ground, below the figure of Gandhi (these are probably the initials of the owner).
