The view is again from the north side, but much closer, within the perimeter of the Five Fuji Lakes. Clouds of freezing rain come down to all but obscure the summit of Fuji and roll across the landscape at its base. Lighted windows of a few dwellings are a small figurative anchor in a rich sea of textures, some deriving from the grain of the block, some from the granular pigment itself.
