- Description
-
Bowl with knobbed lid made of woven and coiled split bamboo. It is decorated internally with a plain brick-red lacquer and externally (on the lid as well as around the belly of the bowl) with the yokthe pattern, executed in the yun technique on the same brick-red ground. Most of the figures stride through the pattern, though three at least are on horseback. The figures on the bowl are divided, one from the other by either butterflies or parrots; on the lid only parrots are seen. On the base is the mark of the Royal Golden Tortoise Workshop - a tortoise - and an inscription.
