Box made of solid bamboo (ie. not of split bamboo). Of a nesting arrangement whereby one vessel (made of drum and cover) fits inside another vessel (also made of drum and cover); there are consequently four elements in total. These two interlocking vessels are decorated with grooving around the outside imitateing split bamboo weaving. Some remains of lime is seen inside the outer box, suggesting the original function of these vessels. Both inside and outside of all four elements are decorated in a plain brownish maroon lacquer which is now peeling in places.
