- Description
-
Cheroot box made of woven and coiled split bamboo, and wood (the feet). The interior decorated with brick-red coloured lacquer (perhaps re-lacquered - the original would have been more like the cinnabar red found on the exterior of the drum). The exterior of the lid is decorated with pink on black lacquer, in the yun technique. The top of the lid has a hintha bird on it, while the sides of the lid are decorated with alternating chinthe (Burmese lions) and floral swags; the exterior of the drum has a running floral scroll running along it in yellow on black, also in the yun technique. Lower down on the drum is a band of plain cinnabar red. The vessel stands on three separate wooden feet.
