- Description

Small betel-box made of woven and coiled split bamboo (plaited basketry) and lacquer. There are no internal trays. Decorated inside with plain red cinnabar lacquer. On the exterior (including the base) decorated with small hatching, in the yun lacquer technique (grey or black on red), to imitate basketry. Also, around the edges of the top of the lid and acting as margins (top and bottom) of the lid and the drum, there are single yellow lines, probably in yun lacquer, but surely imitating inlaid but bare bamboo (see 1998. 7-23. 139).
