Betel-box made of woven and coiled split bamboo; there are no internal trays. The interior is a fine cinnabar red colour, spotted with lime powder, evidence of use. The exterior is decorated, very unusually, with painted lacquer. The design is of a floral scroll pattern which on the lid is now very rubbed. The colours are a dull gold, red, black and green.
