- Description
-
Betel box of lacquered, woven split bamboo decorated in the 'yun' (incised) technique in pink and yellow on black. The 'Pagan Age' or 'bagan kit' pattern derives from the stucco swags which survive on the exterior walls and doorways of the eleventh- to thirteenth-century temples at Pagan. The quality of the lacquer is rather thick and heavy. There are two internal trays, and the piece is inscribed.
