Cast brass image of Gotama Buddha seated upon the coils of Muchalinda (Mucilinda) Naga, the snake whose many heads shield the Buddha's head. Painted in various colours and gilded (with gold paint)

- Curator's comments
- During the sixth week after the Buddha's enlightenment, there was a huge downpour of rain. The naga king Muchalinda wound his coils around the Buddha's body and arched his hood over the Buddha's head to protect him from the rain.
