Page from the untitled and unbound, paper sketchbook of the artist Aung Win; the artist's address in Rangoon appears on the reverse of each painting. Three women are animatedly drawn in thick black line and coloured in red, brown and orange. The woman in the centre is washing her long black hair while another pours water over her head. This is a scene from the Manohari Jataka. An inscription with Burmese script lines the lower border of the image; flowering plants line the upper border. Painting.

The eleven pages of the sketchbook are collected together within a brown paper cover. The cover is printed with a drawing of a tree, some Burmese script and a stamp. The artist's name is written in large roman lettering on the cover as well.

This is a copy of a scene of the Manohari Jataka from a wall painting at Zedi Daw Daik in Anein village, Burma. The incident is of Manohari washing her hair and discovering her husband's ring in the water container.
