The title given here is the one written on this copy, and is preferred to those given in Riccar Art Museum catalogue (Riccar Art Museum, Tokyo, 'Ichimoku-kai ten', exh. cat., 1979, V-l 6), which are 'Sakuhin' (Work) and 'Abstract'. The dimensions and colours are almost identical to those in the 1949 copy owned by Sekino (ibid). Presumably the artist either kept this copy and added the date when he disposed of it, or took a new pull in 1960 when it was required. The composition seems completely overwhelmed by Onchi's mature abstract style of the period, but is much neater in execution, rather in the manner of the posthumous reprints of some of Onchi's own works by Hirai Koichi.
