The simple haiga illustrations of candid everyday moments by Gessho are perfect complements to the haiku poems contained in the anthology. (Label copy, TTC 2000)

Hillier and Smith 1980
In this book, purporting to be a sequel to the first 'Koya bunko' described in 1979, 0305, 0115, the main artist is Gessho who took over from Yujo on the death of that artist. It is the most comprehensive exposition of the 'haiga' ever produced, with designs of startling simplicity by an artistic genius matching the allusiveness of the verses and the asymmetry of the calligraphy.
