Curator's comments
Mixed public bathing was not uncommon until outlawed as part of the Kansei Reforms of 1787-93. Koryusai creates a scene of comic prurience as young and old of both sexes regard one another with open curiosity. This is the last of twelve plates likening sexual positions to wrestling holds.
