This straight 'tanto' blade is 'hira zukuri', and has a 'mitsumune'. The unmodified tang has one hole and the file marks are 'katte sagari'. The tang tip is 'iriyamagata'. The blade is pierced through with a carving of a 'kurikara'. The grain is flowing 'itame' with 'jinie'. The 'hamon' is a small 'notare' with 'gunome' in 'nie' with a 'komaru boshi'. The sword is not actually by Yasutsugu, who signed 'Shimosaka' in his early days, but this blade nevertheless is a good example of typical Momoyama-period Echizen work.
