- Curator's comments
- The register says Makan Sultan, but this is a mistake by the donor, as Makan means to eat in Malay, whereas Makam means grave. The tomb is called Makam Sultan, and Kampung Makam refers to the village near which Sultan Mahmud II of Johor (r. 1675/80-99) was buried.
