Pilgrims to Enoshima (near Kamakura) are shown amusing themselves fishing and the like and the wooden pail on the far right has a label attached to it reading "Offering from Ebisuya Mohachi". On the fan held by the young woman wearing a kimono with long hanging sleeves is a 'kyoka' poem by Tarai no Amemori: "Lonliness/Is the lot of an ugly man/Who had no partner in love,/Of an autumn evening." Also, on the hand-towel tied around the head of the young man fishing on the left can be made out the character "Ichi", suggesting this could be a portrait of a particular 'kyoka' poet.
Impressions are also known in which the mark of the publisher Fushimiya Zenroku is replaced with 'kiwame' censorship seals, but this must be a second printing. This first printing must have been issued in 1790 or before; then when the censorship system was changed from the New Year of 1791 the design must have been resubmitted for inspection and had the 'kiwame' seals added.
