- Curator's comments
- Harrison-Hall 2001:
A similar blue-and-white 'min yao' bowl with different flowers, dating to the mid fifteenth century, was excavated in 1989 at Yongdeng county, Gansu province, during the construction of a department store. The character 'fu' means good fortune, blessings or happiness and is frequently found decorating the inside of porcelains of the Zhengtong to Tianshun era. The character 'shou', meaning long life, is also much used.
