- Curator's comments
Hashira title: 'Iwaki zukushi' (vol. 1), 'Iwaki' (vol. 2). 'Kokusho somokuroku', vol. 1, p. 315; Matsudaira Susumu, 'Moronobu Sukenobu ehon shoshi' (1987), no. 13.
The book begins with 'copies of old Chinese and Japanese paintings', some showing rocks and trees of the title, but quickly proceeds to scenes of flirtation that were Moronobu's true forte. This is the moment the monk Seigen falls for Sakura-hime, the 'Cherry Princess'.
