Asahi 1996 「五月廿三日」の年記と、「皆失災滅」(あらゆる病と災いが去りますようにの意)の文字がある。抑揚が強く乾いた速筆、ほとんど人間の表情のような獅子の顔に集約された看過すべからざる力など、その様式は一連の「日新除魔」に特徴的なものである。 (竹内美砂子(名古屋市博物館))
