- Curator's comments
- This is the most common shape for punchong wares. The 'rope curtain' pattern, together with chrysanthemums, is also often used. The decoration would have been stamped on the leather-hard body and then the bowl dipped in the slip. When the excess slip had been wiped off, a transparent glaze would have been applied and the bowl fired.
