This is the 'Moon' section of the 'Snow, Moon and Flowers' set done by Hiroshige in his last year, apparently as a summing-up of his achievements in landscape. These three compositions are certainly the grandest of all Japanese landscape prints. The eight famous places of Kanazawa (now in Kanagawa Prefecture) have been obliterated by filling-in of the coast. The signature is 'The brush of Hiroshige'.
