Description
Colour woodblock print, oban triptych. The kabuki actors (from left) Seki Sanjuro II as Haenuki no Iwa, Ichikawa Monnosuke III as the geisha Oben, caught in a fisherman's net, and Onoe Kikugoro III as the boatman Tomozuna no Kame, rowing along the Sumida River at night, in the play 'Ise heishi ume no mitegura' by Tsuruya Nanboku IV; performed at the Kawarasaki-za in the 11th month of 1820 (Bunsei 3).
